Graduated from First Moscow Medical Institute in 1980. Has been Head of Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology at P.K. Anokhin Research Institute of Normal Physiology (Moscow, 1989-2011); David DeWied Research Fellow at Rudolf Magnus Institute of Neuroscience (Utrecht, The Netherlands, 1993-1994); Co-Director of UK-Russian Joint Laboratory for Neurobiology of Memory (1992-2004); Visiting Professor at Max Planck Institute of Biophysical Chemistry (Göttingen, Germany, 1998-2001); Visiting Professor at Sub-Department of Animal Behavior, University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK, 2007-2008); Head of Department of Neuroscience at National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" (Moscow, Russia, 2011-2019).

Area of expertise: Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology, Neuroscience of Learning and Memory, Behavioral Neuroscience, Development of Nervous System. Author of more than 300 papers published in Russian and international journals.
