Dr Fiona Gill is an Associate Professor at the Department of Palaeontology and Geochemistry at the School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds.
Fiona originally studied palaeontology at the University of Leeds, then undertook postdoctoral training in geochemistry at Newcastle University. She held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Bristol, before returning to the University of Leeds to take up a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellowship, followed by a lectureship.
Fiona is one of the co-chairs of the Women@Leeds Network, a network open to all staff and postgraduate researchers at the University of Leeds, which aims to support the personal and professional development of women at the University of Leeds, to advance gender equality and to remove barriers that prevent women from achieving their potential. Fiona is also currently the Vice President of the Palaeontological Association; a major UK learned society for palaeontology and allied sciences
